phew, you've made it to the martian surface, good going! now the real mission can begin...

how to play

plan activities for the day using the activity planner bar along the bottom of the screen. manage your battery level to make sure it doesn't drop to zero, and keep it out of the danger zone*. make use of your limited time on the surface as eventually the battery will degrade beyond usability anyway*.

make observations of targets on the surface to generate data from your instruments, then plan which data you want to downlink to earth in the transmission window. science is the search for new things, so try combinations* of instruments*, targets and contexts* to maximise your novelty bonus* and optimise your findings from your mission. you only have one chance to transmit per day, so make it count!

things don't always go to plan*, so make sure to plan defensively in case of stuck wheels*, cosmic rays* or solar flares*, all of which can ruin your day.

use returned science to research new instruments*, rover upgrades* and new landing sites* to fly more capable missions* in the ever-expanding search for life on mars*!

*not yet implemented lol

Interesting! I am a little confused with how to send my data to Earth but I am really charmed by the "UI" and the premise is lovely (Rovers are adorable). This reminds me of games where you can't "see" the surface of some planet but you are remotely observing it with your instruments. Very neat I had fun!
